One hundred years of Iran studies in Denmark

Arthur Emanuel Christensen, Danish orientalist and scholar of Iranian philology and folklore made three trips to Iran (Persia), in 1914, 1929, and 1934, and wrote a number of books on ancient Persia, including its history, culture, people and setting

 

The Iran Studies Department at Copenhagen University, still running, was established by Christensen in 1919 where he worked until his death in 1945
