Iran – Denmark Bilateral Economic Relations

Despite a long history of cooperation and significant economic potential—particularly in industries, renewable energy, and other sectors—bilateral trade between Iran and Denmark has experienced a notable decline in recent years due to various challenges. However, 2024 saw a modest recovery, with total trade volume reaching approximately $44.5 million, reflecting a year-on-year increase compared to 2023.

Trade Breakdown (2024):

Danish exports to Iran: ~$30 million (primarily pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, accounting for nearly 70% of total exports)

Iranian exports to Denmark: ~$14.5 million

For context, official Danish statistics indicate that the total trade volume in 2023 stood at around $40 million, with Iran’s exports to Denmark amounting to only $6 million.
