On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, November 29th, I would like to once again, on behalf of the people and government of my country, express the overwhelming support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Palestinian people in realization of their aspirations.
November 29 reminds us of more than seven decades of occupation of the Palestinian territories by the usurper Zionist regime as well as the excruciating pain and misery of the people of Palestine and continuation of oppression, injustice and violation of the rights of the suppressed Palestinians. This year, we are commemorating the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People under circumstances in which the intensity of the savage crimes of the racist Zionist regime against the nation of Palestine, particularly the residents of Gaza, has dazzled the eyes of the world and opened a new page in the history of cruelty and hate of this forged and temporary regime. The massacre of civilians, targeting hospitals, schools, mosques and churches as well as cutting off water, food, fuel and medicine to the people of Gaza, the forced displacement of thousands of people, killing of journalists and demolishing the premises of various international organizations in Gaza are taking place before the eyes of the world while the self-proclaimed Western defenders of human rights, especially the United States and other abettors, are supporting the occupying regime in committing these crimes.
The usurper Zionist regime in recent weeks has broken the record of all criminals in history. Martyrdom of more than 15,000 innocent people including more than 6,000 children, along with the killing of more than 100 UN staff and the targeting of more than 50 journalists, all demonstrate the vicious nature of this regime that has violated all international rules and regulations and is brazenly committing atrocities, war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide before the eyes of the world.
While emphasizing the inalienable right of the people of Palestine in their struggle against the occupiers and condemning the crimes committed by the child-killer Zionist regime against this powerful and resilient nation, the Islamic Republic of Iran invites all Member States of the United Nations and free nations around word to use all means to help end the Zionist regime’s genocide and occupation and help the Palestinian people realize their inalienable right to self-determination. We are confident that oppression cannot be sustained and the Palestinian nation will definitely be the ultimate winner in their struggle.
The Islamic Republic of Iran reiterates the continuation of all-out support for the Palestinian cause and commends the resilience and legitimate resistance of the Palestinian youth against the crimes and occupation of the Zionist regime. We invite the international community to denounce the crimes being perpetrated by this criminal regime in clear violation of international law and provisions of numerous international resolutions.
The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that the termination of the present organized occupation of the historical territory of Palestinian people, the return of Palestinian refugees and exercise of their right to self-determination are the only principled solution to the Palestinian issue. In this respect, the plan proposed by the Islamic Republic of Iran which is based on the return of refugees and holding a referendum with the participation of genuine Palestinians, including Muslims, Christians and Jews, on the basis of democratic principles and international law has been officially registered in the United Nations. This plan is an appropriate substitute for the previous failed plans, and aims to resolve the question of Palestine through international law on the basis of the exercise of the right to self-determination and the right of return of Palestinian refugees to their homeland.
In conclusion, once again, I take this opportunity to salute the courageous resistance and heroic defense of the free and proud people and youth of Palestine against the atrocities of the Zionist regime and pray for their victory and the freedom of Palestine from the oppression and cruelty of the occupiers.
