In The Name Of Allah
Israel, since declaring war on Gaza on Saturday October 7, 2023, in a blatant violation of international law, has cut off food, medicine, water, fuel and electricity to the blockaded enclave, and its forces have launched a horrendous bombing campaign indiscriminately targeting, among others, civilian areas.
In six days of relentless death and destruction, an estimated 6600 bombs, weighing over 4500 tons, have been unleashed onto civilian targets in Gaza, killing more than 1,500 people, including 500 children and 267 women, as well as 12 UN workers. Nearly 25 ambulances have been destroyed and more than 6,600 people wounded. Hospitals are overwhelmed and are being turned into morgues. Drone footage of Gaza reveal the inconceivable scale of destruction with many areas reduced to rubble by Israeli airstrikes. According to reports, so far, 18 places of worship, 22,600 residential units, 19 medical centres, 90 education facilities, 70 industrial facilities, and 49 media offices have been targeted and raised to the ground.
The continuation of indifference and inaction of the international community and injustice in the Security Council due to the complicity of some of its permanent members with the Zionist regime, have emboldened this regime in committing more violence and crimes against the Palestinians over several decades, so much so, that in the current situation, as the world is witnessing, it is carrying out the most severe military attacks, including the most terrifying and destructive bombings, using the most advanced weapons of mass destruction in modern age. It is also laying siege to over 2 million defenceless civilians, preventing humanitarian aid getting through, cutting off food, water and electricity and committing genocide. Furthermore, it is taking steps to put a part of the inhabitants of the fragmented and occupied land of Palestine in the worst possible conditions with the aim of erasing the identity of the Palestinian nation.
The scenes of towers and residential buildings collapsing, the destruction of medical centers resulting from indiscriminate bombings, corpses of children in the arms of their mothers, desperate women and helpless and anxious people looking for shelter with the sadness of losing their loved ones all over their faces, each tell a story of cruelty of the highest degree and the maddening crimes against the Palestinian people. All these are clear manifestation of the failure of the international community to respect the basic principles and conventions of human rights. This is while the Western world and the global media under their control have closed their eyes to these crimes, described as open genocide.
The issue of Palestine can only be resolved by ending the occupation, forcing the Zionist regime to stop its expansionist policies and giving recognition to the inherent rights of the Palestinian people.
In the meantime, the United Nations Security Council, charged with the responsibility for international peace and security, must act on the immediate and urgent need for a quick and effective response to these open and inhumane crimes against the people of Gaza.
Subsequently, the international community and the countries of the world and the region must take fundamental and solid steps towards fulfillment of the inalienable rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation, because mere sympathy is no longer enough.
