Statement by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Copenhagen on the Recent Tragic Violations of Human Rights by the Forces of the Zionist Re

Over the three days of 5 – 7 August 2022, the world witnessed another tragedy of mass killings and destruction unleashed by the Occupying Israeli forces against the inhabitants of Palestinian enclave of Gaza. The relentless onslaught resulted in the martyrdom of at least 44, including 15 children, with over 350 others reported injured.

Over the three days of 5 – 7 August 2022, the world witnessed another tragedy of mass killings and destruction unleashed by the Occupying Israeli forces against the inhabitants of Palestinian enclave of Gaza. The relentless onslaught resulted in the martyrdom of at least 44, including 15 children, with over 350 others reported injured. 

Gaza, home to over two million people, described as one of the most densely populated areas in the world, and besieged from all sides, has been exposed to periodic death and destruction, including several that has raised it to the ground. More disturbing than the frequent tragedies unfolding on the defenceless people of Gaza is the indifference of the international community to the loss of so many lives, massive scale of destruction and the unacceptable and indescribable suffering of the helpless people of Gaza.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran expresses its utter condemnation of the despicable acts of the Zionist Israeli forces in their indiscriminate targeting of civilians, and reminds the conscience of the world that while the slightest encroachment on the rights of any nation rightly arouses strong reactions in many appropriate forms, the Zionists seem to be enjoying a free hand, expecting little reaction no matter how outrageous their crimes. It is unfortunate that the occupying forces use this perceived immunity to continue their almost daily atrocities against the people forced to live under occupation from the cradle to the grave.

It is time for the world community to bring pressure on the Zionists to respect international laws and Security Council Resolutions to allow the Palestinians to live in their own homeland in peace and with dignity.
