Preservation of National Identity

Ferdowsi Tousi, (935–1020) is one of the greatest Persian poets ever lived, a national hero and literary great of all time. He endured hardships in life but by completing his masterpiece – the Shahnameh, an epic poem of over 60,000 couplets – preserved national identity, language and heritage of his homeland – Iran.
